Steve's "Ride To Fight Leukemia" Page

On October 5, 2002, I will be participating in The Tropical Island Century Ride in West Palm Beach, FL, as a member of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team in Training program.

I will be riding in this 100-mile road cycling event in honor of Christine Lara. Christine, my "honored teammate," is a 5th-grader who is currently undergoing treatment for Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia.

My goal is to raise $2000 to support The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in its effort to battle leukemia, the leading cause of death in children ages 1 to 15.

Significant progress has been made in the treatment of leukemia. Fifteen years ago the survival rate was only 4%. Today it is 80%! Reasearchers are optimistic that a cure can be found within 6 years.

Your donation is the key to achieving this goal.

Please click the 'donate' link on the left for information on how you can support my efforts.

I will be adding entries in the diary section of this site as the training progresses and will report on the event after I complete it.

Thanks for your support.

Steve
